Railroad Accident.

New York, June 27.

The Commercial says: We understand that an accident occurred at an early hour this morning, on the Erie railroad, caused by the giving way of one of the rails, throwing the train off the track and causing the death of a number of persons, as well as injuring many of the passengers on the train. Owing to the distance from New York where the accident occurred no particulars have been received.
