The Chippewa County News, published at Sault Ste. Marie, gives the following information in its issue of the 20th: The chief engineer and one assistant of the Canadian Pacific arrived at the Hotel Superior a few days since from Ottawa, and have been busy at work on measurements and other matters connected with the great international bridge at the head of the rapids. The engineer states that the bridge will not only be a railroad bridge, but will also have a carriage driveway and a walk for foot passengers. The bridge will be built at some large iron manufactory and shipped here all ready to be put together, and will undoubtedly be completed and opened for traffic by January 1, 1888.
